EASTON CHALKS UP ANOTHER FIRST BY UNVEILING CARBON NANOTUBE TECHNOLOGY TO HOCKEY WORLD

Exclusive Molecular Composite Stick Technology Launched with new Synergy SL

VAN NUYS, Calif., - Easton Hockey, the industry leader in manufacturing technologically advanced hockey equipment, has raised its game with the introduction of Zyvex’s NanoSolve™ carbon nanotube technology. The revolutionary new composite stick technology increases strength while reducing weight. Using a new manufacturing process that incorporates the strongest and most flexible molecular material ever, Easton is taking hockey equipment to yet another level, according to the vice president of Easton Hockey, Ned Goldsmith.

“We view the incorporation of CNT into our sticks as a critical step in further developing the world’s best hockey sticks,” said Goldsmith. “The Synergy SL is the first stick to utilize CNT’s stronger and more durable material design. Keeping with our tradition of putting Easton sticks in the hands of the world’s best players, Peter Forsberg has already adopted this new design while playing in Sweden for Modo.”

NanoSolve is carbon nanotube technology that uses materials engineered at the molecular level to bring strength to materials via resin reinforcement. Unlike other sports equipment manufacturers that use partial or carbon particle materials, Easton's CNT, powered by NanoSolve, is “real” carbon nanotube technology that provides the unique combination of a significant increase in strength and weight reduction (10~15% increase in overall strength and toughness).

Lighter (420 grams), yet stronger than its predecessor, the Synergy SL’s new blade design yields unmatched performance. The evolution of this application to the Synergy product line came from the best minds at Easton and Zyvex working together to create this stick.

“Easton is known for its innovation, originality and ingenuity,” said Thomas A. Cellucci, PhD, MBA, and president of Zyvex Corporation, which provided its NanoSolve™ materials for the stick. “They've continued to raise the bar by offering innovative products based on the most advanced composite materials, and we are pleased to be a part of their product development.”
